Christmas and holidays

What a fantastic couple of weeks we have had! The kids loved Christmas- unwrapping presents and emptying the Santa sack. It was exciting to watch and Jemma ate all her Santa chocolates within 10 minutes! She loved her gumboots and togs and insisted on wearing them straightaway. Riley has been playing with his presents non stop since Christmas. He really loves the leapster game system we got him so that was great.

Then after Christmas, it was off to Omarama to camp in Grandma and Grandads caravan for 11 days. What a good time we had and fantastic weather. Riley didn't settle well at nights but by day, we had him in boats, even Uncle Pauls noisy jet boat. It was fantastic to see how brave he has gotten. Of course, he continually asks for our own boat now... I want a kitchen first! Dad's goal was to get him back on his bike after his confidence was rocked due to his crash and he spent a bit of time with him. Again Riley came to the party and is making great progress on the bike. Don't you just love that photo of him with Dad at the bottom.. makes our hearts melt each time.

Jemma was not really into the boats yet though she did go for one ride. But she enjoyed playing with her friend Nina in the next caravan and with the teenagers on the lakeside. Her claim to fame was at the Twizel swimming pool... nearly a code brown... she had just got out of the water though- phew! Could have been embarrassing.

It was a great time with the kids that little bit older. We could relax with our friends and they could play. Definitely our most successful family holiday thus far!
