I did it with some help from my friends

A couple of potential disasters averted by Alice and Audrey and my jersey is finished. And doesn't she look beautiful?

Can't decide what to knit her next but think I will do a red based hat like her other one and then may tackle longies.

Jemma's been under the water

Another week has sped by. More firsts have occurred.

Riley has started his therapy and is doing really well. He seems stimulated and being as bright as he is, will hopefully absorb what he needs to and learn the skills he requires quickly.

Jemma had her second swim but this was her first time being dunked under the water. As usual, she took the placid approach and not a word or comment to be had.

Riley is sleeping really well but of course that means Jemma isn't. Typical huh?

Grandma and Grandad came down to help out and Grandma and Jemma decided to wear matching colours so we had to get a photo to commemorate.

Our Easter holiday

Easter has now been and gone and we had a wee holiday. Though holiday is not really the word when you end up in a 1 bedroom unit with small children, one of whom insists on coughing most of the night. We had a lovely time though but we made a mental note not to expect that going away might mean more sleep!!

Mummy found out she can knit while Daddy drives so Jemma's jersey to match her hat is making great progress! We went to Warbirds over Wanaka and had a great day. Riley loved the planes and he was very good- coped with all the noise and he loved looking at everything. Jemma was her usual darling self. We even caught her on film laughing- cute huh?

So now we are home and back to catching up on everything.

Jemma's new hat

Here is the first thing I have knitted in 17 years! Jemma's new hat. Now I have started on a matching jersey. Not that I know how to knit- I am just good at downloading knitting videos on the web ;-)

Last week of term and the kids are getting tired... or I am using that as Riley's excuse for being a little shite today! He is a shopaholic which is hilarious cos as a baby, he would scream the place down as soon as I walked into one. Now, he gets upset as we head home."No, not this way, that way...another shop..." He has the makings of a 'metromale'.

Easter is coming and we are off on a small holiday so looking forward to that! Reading and knitting and maybe some enforced childcare as well!

Rolling and reading

Jemma is nearly 6.5 mths and she finally showed some consistency in rolling onto her back by doing it 5 times!! She is so placid (or is that lazy ;-) ) that she has not bothered to move so it was very exciting to watch this afternoon. Action photos show sequence.

The pram shot indicates what we had planned today with the beautiful weather. However the puncture Peter fixed in the weekend is flat again so there is an old photo to show you. Instead we went to the dinosaur park and Jemma was in the front pack so she and I went down the big slide a few times. Riley just climbed up and down the stairs and then wanted to see the 'ocean' so we walked up to the beach so he could see it.

We are helping Riley learn to read and he is reading (ie has memorised) bus, mum, dad, Riley, Jemma, boat, maisy and thomas. The words on the blackboard are his requests but he hasn't memorised them yet. We will work on that! His new
obsession is Blues Clues and he now goes around all day singing their songs and talking to Joe!

PS. Thanks for all the comments. We love getting them.
